This new island-hopping experience is the result of a unique collaboration between Cliara Development Company - Clare Island, Inishturk Development, Fáilte Ireland, and the Clew Bay Tourism Network. Together, we are working to unlock the full potential of Clew Bay’s offshore islands by creating immersive, sustainable visitor experiences that celebrate the rich culture, heritage, and natural beauty of this extraordinary part of County Mayo.

Our initiative invites visitors to journey between Clare Island and Inishturk—two of Ireland’s most captivating islands—through a carefully curated itinerary that blends adventure, storytelling, and authentic island hospitality. This experience offers a rare opportunity to connect with and contribute to our off-shore island communities.

This pilot project builds on the success of the Clew Bay Bike Trail and aims to encourage visitors to go beyond and experience these unique islands as part of their stay in Clew Bay. With ferry connections, local guides, and community-led experiences, we’re crafting a visitor proposition that is both commercially viable and deeply rooted in place. Our shared vision is to grow tourism in a way that benefits island communities, supports local businesses, and preserves the unique character of Clare Island and Inishturk for generations to come.
